Nitroxide radical derivs. of esterified or etherified mono, oligo and polysaccharides marked in a selective position by the nitroxide ester:- where R1, R2, R3, R4 are alkyl. The radicals are used in studies of structure and permeability of selective membranes and morphology and biodegradation of saccharides.
