Abstract

The fluid discharge flow is guided in a current path including a zone in which the fluidic energy is reduced by injection of a different fluid, which absorbs the energy of the fluid generated by the pressurised discharge. The injected fluid is in the form of a fluid current whose flow rate is variable in accordance with that of the fluid discharge. The fluid injection means employs two facing transverse apertured plates (5, 4) defining a chamber between them into which the fluid is injected via at least one radial hole (8) in a ring (3) supporting the two plates. A water current may be injected into a vapourised water flow.
