Abstract

A packaging insert for small objects, e.g. small model motor cars, has a base and back piece made of, for example, expanded polystyrene or other expanded plastics. The back and base have faces at right angles suitable for fitting inside a box. To secure the object, the base has a protrusion on which the object sits, and there is a hollow on the bottom of the base beneath this plinth. A fixing screw passes through the expanded plastics and holds the object in position. A layer of harder material corresponding in shape to the section of the hollow is used for the head of the screw to bear against.
