Abstract

An equipment designed to overcome the disadvantages of poor accuracy and lengthy interpretation of existing recording systems provides a direct numeric readout of voltage fluctuations which exceed a pre-determined amplitude and duration. The voltage is repeatedly compared with a series of pre-set amplitude thresholds typically 5%, 10%, 15% etc. below normal, to determine when a reduced amplitude exists and when it does so for more than a pre-determined time interval. The number of such occasions is counted and recorded.
