Abstract

An arrangement for lubricating the chain of an overhead conveyor with hangers suspended from rollers which travel along an I beam, with the chain links interposed between the hangers, has an oil ejector located each side of the chain suspended from a framework bolted to the beam so that the jets are angled to spray both sides of the chain. Each ejector (5) has a casing (14) housing a pneumatic piston (15) at the rear, actuated by a control valve, a spindle (13) extending forwards to form an oil delivery chamber at the front, to inject oil from a nozzle (6) at the front, as a jet. Oil enters the chamber from a reservoir tank through a supply tube (16) near the front by gravity feed, and is ejected by the forward part of the spindle (13) past a spring loaded ball, valve (19) from the orifice in the nozzle.
