Abstract

The blocks are designed with empty spaces inside and therefore have good insulation properties. Each block has up to 100 layers of air, 0.5 cm thick, per metre, separated by solid strips 0.5 cm. thick, the insulation properties increasing with the number of layers of air. The solid strips separating the layers of air are linked by rectangular segments. Each block is made of concrete using a fine sand with grains less than 1 mm, and preferably less than 0.5 mm in diameter. By using fine sand and vibration to manufacture elements, perfectly smooth surfaces are obtained. These blocks are used in construction of houses, cold stores, etc. They do not have to be made of concrete-identical results can be obtained with materials such as plastic.
