Optical brightener mixt., esp. for use in washing celluosic textiles, consists of a mixt. of cpds. having formula (I) and (II):- (where M is Na or K). Pref. wt. ratio (A) : (B) is 10 : 1 to 1 : 5 (5 : 1 to 1 : 2). Concn. of (A) + (B) in detergent is pref. 0.01-1 (0.05-0.5) wt. %.
