Abstract

Water-soluble lubricants, esp. for drawing hollow or solid Al pieces, comprise >=1 partially or totally saponified (by conversion into an alkali metal salt) fatty acid glyceryl ester of animal or vegetable origin with a m.p. of >20 degrees C. The ester can be based on stearic, oleic, palmitic, lauric or arachidic acid or can be a mixt. of esters, e.g. cocoa butter or carnauba wax.
