Abstract

A solar collector (1) concentrates solar radiation on a flow of water which it vapourises, and the steam passes to a steam collector (2) equipped with safety valve, pressure guage and thermometer. Steam passes from this to a turbine (3) which drives a generator (4). The solar collector is cylindrical and one semi-cylindrical side is constructed or double convex lenses. This side faces south and the north facing side is opaque. Water is contained inside an inner cylinder; the radial gap between which and the outer cylinder is equal to the focal distance of the lenses.
