Abstract
Some existing anti theft devices have the drawbacks of leaving the horn in action continually or of working accidentally due to wind action or minor blows. The present device uses a telephone dial and switch which sets off the horn and lights and earths the ignition system. This is located in the boot and control is in the vehicle body. On setting, the device closing the doors closes a circuit. The entire system has a circuit with variable time delay, selected by the telephone switch. After the chosen time the system reverts to its original position. It can be immobilised from the boot, using a known code on the telephone switch.
