Abstract
Cmpsn. comprising a "phosphonate" selected from cpds. (I)-(X) or their salts and a stannous, chromous or ferrous sulphate or chloride in quantities such that the molar ratio of metal to phosphonate is 1:15 to 1:80, are new: R-((CHPO3H2))-nR (I) (where R is H or CH2OH and n is 3-10) R1-C(PO3H2)2-R2 (II) (where R1 is H, 1-20C alkyl, 2-20 C alkenyl; aryl, phenethenyl, benzyl, halogen, OH, opt. substd. amino, CH2COOH, CH2PO3H2, CH(PO3H2)(OH) or - CH2C(PO3H2)2 nH; n' is 1-15; R2 is H, alkyl, NH2, benzyl, halogen, OH, -CH2COOH, -CH2PO3H2 or -CH2CH2PO3H2) (III) (where n" is 3-9). H2O3P.CR32 3N (IV) (where R3 is H or alkyl) (V) (where n"' is 2-4) H2O3P-CH2-CO-PO3H2 (VIII) CH2=C(PO3H2)2 (IX) (X)(where X and Y are H or OH). In the prepn. of Tc99m complexes for radiographic exploration of bone material. The mixt. when dried by lyophilisation is stable. The Tc99-agent prepd. using the cmpsn. shows high selectivity with low retention of metal ions by the bone material.
