Abstract

Many parking spaces in towns are so short as to require cars to reverse into them. This can be difficult as following cars may not be aware that reversing is about to happen. This can prevent the parking car from reversing. The patent gives the driver of the parking car a means of signalling his intention to the rear. It consists of a special lamp, at the rear of the car, which is only switched on immediately before reversing. The lamp illuminates a translucent plate with the letter P on it (in white, against a blue background).
