Abstract

Yarn is not drawn by being wrapped around a pair of spaced cylinder, coated with a wear resistant material (e.g. chrome steel, ceramic) and secured to a block having longitudinally extending ducts positioned symmetrically with respect to the cylinders, and in which are located heater elements whereby the block and cylinders are heated. A temp. sensor is positioned in the block to allow control of the temp. of the cylinders. Use device is cheaper and simpler to construct than devices in which each cylinder is provided with its own heater. Pref. the free end of each cylinder is covered with a heat insulating material (e.g. bakelite) and pref. each cylinder is bolted to the block.
