Abstract

The bared end of the wire to be connected is trapped in a slotted well carried in a female threaded section which mates with a similarily threaded socket. Connection is obtained by screwing the plug and socket sections together. The surface of the free or plug section has a serrated or notched sawtooth surface arranged so that the ratchet claw mounted on the socket body rides easily in the connecting operation, but only allows the connector to be unscrewed if the claw is pushed away from the plug body against a spring.
