Abstract

Polyurethane prepolymers with a mol.wt. of 300-10,000 are cured by treating with a mixt. of a catalyst and a curing agent selected from (a) HCN, (b) HCN+ polyisocyanate, or (c) polycyanoformamide with a mol.wt. of 40-2000, in order to introduce heterocyclic groups of formula (I) between the prepolymer molecules. (where X and Y are each O or NH, but both X and Y are not NH). The cured polymers have a high strength.
