Abstract

The screw central shaft axis has three diameters the largest diameter is at the end remote from outlet and diameters are then reduced in steps towards the outlet. The archimedean spiral is of the same diameter throughout and is fixed directly to the largest diameter shaft and supported by arms at the smaller diameters. To keep the extractor fed, a stirrer having four beater paddles is mounted above it and driven from the same motor as the extractor. This breaks up the powder and avoids sticking.
