Abstract

A series of interconnected electromagnetic relays each have at least one pair of fixed and one pair of moving contacts. The supply of current to a number of controlling devices which supply power to the display is determined by opening and closing the moving contacts. The tim delay during which each relay is in a given state is adjustable. The sequence is started by supplying the first relay in the chain with current via its fixed contacts. After a preset delay its open contacts close and its closed contacts open and either complete or interrupt the current supply to one or more of the display controllers and at the same time trigger the next relay in the chain which in turn reverts to its initial state after its preset time dlay and triggers the following relay and so on to th end of the chain where the final relay restarts the sequence. The complete output sequence is determined by the initial states and preset time delays of each individual relay. Electrical or electronic means may be used to implement the delay.
