Abstract

Solid decorative panel has first, second and third layers of mineral-filled resin e.g. unsatd. polyester, material, having smooth surfaces, intermediate perforated sheets between the first/second, second/third layers, and a solid block of rigid e.g. polyurethane foam covering the internal surface of the second layer, the thickness of the sheets being much less than that of the layers. Pieces of mineral material are embedded in the exterior surface of the third layer, and the resin material passes through spaced openings in the foam block to form bridges preventing the separation of these parts. Panel combines low weight with high strength, dimensional stability, insulation and durability.
