Abstract

Flame resistant yarns and textiles consist of a combination of (I) 90-10 wt. % flame resistant cellulose fibres, such as cotton, cellulose acetate or regenerated cellulose fibres and (II) 10-90 wt. % fibres of a linear, random copolyester having >=75 mole % (ethylene 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate) units and 3-25 mole % copolymerised ester units contg. Br or Cl bonded to the diol residues, in a sufficient amt. to >=3.5% halogen, based on the wt. of copolyester.
