Abstract

Vehicle body shell has the cockpit with its seat supports and console integrally laid up with the front and rear parts of the body shell in a mould with components which can be dismantled for removal and re-use. The floor is fitted afterwards. Material is pref. a glass fibre reinforced polyester cpd which is not electricallyconductive. Process requires less assembly than bodies made from pressed metal components. Integral box units enhance stiffness of complete structure. Insulation props of the material suppress dangers of electrical short circuits.
