Abstract

Pharmaceutical compsns consisting of a pharmaceutical carrier and 0.1-15% w/v of (a) one of a wide variety of specified alpha-, beta-, or beta2-sympatholytic agents, (b) adenosine, 2'-deoxyadenosine, 2'-3'-isopropylideneadenosine, toyocamycin, 1-methyladenosine, N6-methyladenosine, adenosine N-oxide, 6-methyl-mercaptopurine riboside, 6-chloropurine, riboside or 5'-adenosine monophosphate, or (c) amantadine, tolbutamide, chlorpropamide, tolazamide, acetohexamide or phenformin, or their mixts afford relief from the symptoms of benign and malignant skin proliferation disorders characterised by accelerated cell division e.g. lamellar ichtyosis and keratoses in humans and atopic dermatitis and mange in animals. The compsns may be administered topically, orally, parenterally (e.g.i.m), or by intradermal, intra- or peri-lesional or subcutaneous injection.
