Abstract

Two liquid plastic components (e.g. polyisocyanate and polyol) are fed pref. through separate inlets into a pref. cylindrical mixing chamber and pref. a hydraulically driven piston is slideable in the mixing chamber to force the mixed components through a divergent outlet duct into a mould. Pref. when the piston is completely located in the mixing chamber the separate inlets coincide with recesses in the piston so that the plastic components flow into the recesses and pass into return ducts. The divergent outlet duct reduces turbulence in the liquid plastic mixt., reducing air bubbles and providing a better quality prod.
