Abstract
Zinc electrode, esp. suitable for a zinc-air cell, contains flocculated amalgamated zinc dust (=100 mu) dispersed in a liquid electrolyte and contained in a porous metallic pad, esp. in a zinc sponge. The flocculated zinc dust does not settle. When the potential of the cell drops because of the passivation of the exposed zinc surface, the cell is shaken so that fresh surfaces of the zinc particles are exposed and the potential rises again.
