Abstract

A non woven loop pile fabric is produced by forming pile yarns into loops around a pair of spaced parallel bars and applying the looped pile yarns to a backing fabric. In the improvement one of the bars (pref. the upper bar) has spaced indentations in its operative edge and the bar is moveable (pref. by a rotating cam mechanism) transversely of the fabric to produce a patterned pile. A variety of different patterned piles can be produced
