Abstract

Flavonoids are extracted from crude flavonic vegetable extracts and purified by (a) passage through ion exchange columns to eliminate metals (b) suspension under anhydrous conditions in alcohol or ketone and addition of ammonia (c) separation of the complex and liberation of the flavonoids, pref. by treatment with formic acid.
