Abstract

Large balls or hanks of yarn for rewinding on to spools after processing, are supported on the two arms of a cantilever arrangement, hinging on the machine frame from the vertical posn. for loading the yarn bundle to the horizontal for the end to be drawn off axially and upwards. The arms rotatable on their axes are mounted on carriages on the hinged lever, that farthest away from the hinge being spring loaded by a pivoting shaft which helps maintain constant tension on the yarn throughout the winding off, whilst the carriage nearest the hinge is locked in posn. during winding but exerts slight tension on the yarn bundle during tilting to prevent entanglement of the yarn.
