Abstract

Oligovinylorganosiloxanes are prepd. by hydrolytic polycondensn. of organochlorosilanes R'R"SiCl2 where R' = R" and is either methyl or phenyl, or methyl when the other radical is phenyl; with phenyltrichlorosilane and vinyl-gp.- contg. organosilanes of formula (CH2=CH)R"'SiCl2 where R"' is methyl, phenyl or Cl; at 20-80 degrees C in an org. solvent; followed by separating the org. layer, which is a soln. of the polycondensate in the org. solvent, from the aq. layer, and distilling the org. solvent from the polycondensate. In this process, a mixt. of organochlorosilanes is hydrolytically polycondensed which has an Si-functionality 2.25-2.45, a CH2=CH/Si ratio 0.25-0.30, a CH3/Si ratio 0.45-0.60, a CH2=CH/Et ratio 0.25-0.50, and a ratio of all radicals/Si (R/Si) = 1.55-1.75. Prods. are also used as coatings and casting cpds.
