Butene-1 is polymsd. at 60-80 degrees C, under 7-15 atmos., with the aid of a mixed catalyst from TiCl3 or TiCl3.nAlCl3 and an Al-trialkyl or Al-dialkylhydride, in molar ratio Al : Ti = 4-6. Prods. are film-forming and have good transparency and resistance to tear propagation.
