Abstract
Parent patent described a tubular film extrusion die where the feed melt is introduced perpendicular to the die axis and divided to obtain twin flow streams which impinged tangentially into the annular die. Thus addn. provides for subdivision of each of the two primary flow streams into >=1 further generations of twin flows, thus increasing the number of start points at which the total flow is introduced tangentially to the annular die. The flow path lengths are balanced with all feeding in the same direction w.r.t. the die axis. Pref. the lows ar esplit by assemblies of stacked plates with intervening spacers which direct alternating layers of the full flow section to the downstream passages. The outermost flow layers are pref. divided equally so that each sub flow has a representative sample of the original flow layers.
