Abstract

The parent patent describes pharmaceutical compsns. contg. corticotrophin peptides, a complex former, an amine, and opt. an aluminium salt and other conventional auxiliaries. The present addition claims compsns. wherein the amine is a 2-10C alkylenediamine or deriv., asparagine, carnitine, citrulline, ornithine, cysteine, cystine, serine phosphate, cycloserine, thiolhistidine, histidylalanine, isonicotinoyl hydrazide, indazole, 2-methyl-2-imidazoline, Vitamins K5, K6 or K7, pyrazolone or its derivs., p-aminosalicylic acid or derivs., guanidine or derivs., xanthine or derivs., sulphanilic acid amides, 1-amino-1-desoxysorbitol or pyridoxal, pyridoxine or pyridoxamine, opt. as their 3' or 5' phosphates. This is an addition to 2,157,535. The compositions have prolonged corticotrophin activity, good stability without coagulation and sediment formation and are useful in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, allergic skin conditions, Addison's disease, certain eye diseases and burns covering a large area of the skin. They do not cause local irritation when injected.
