Abstract

Salt is compressed into blocks contg. a binder, in amt. >2 wt.% of the salt, consisting of salts or oxides of heavy metals, among which Cu, Co, Mn, and Zn are in the proportion, Cu/Mn = 0.15-0.19, Cu/Co = 0.02-1, Cu/Zn = 0.11-0.18, Mn/CO = 0.1-2.57, Mn/Zn = 0.52-1.4 and Co/Zn = 0.001-0.2. The content of Co is always 0.05%. The blocks of salt have a good breaking strength e.g. >550 kg/cm2, partic. in the presence of MgO, Mg(OH)2 or MgCO3.
