Abstract

Polyglutamate ester are block-polymerised with (A) polyesters and diisocyanates, or (B) polyethers and diisocyanates. The polyesters are linear polymers with m.w. 500-5000 and the polyethers are linear polymers with m.w. 500-4000 and of formula HO-(R-O-R)n-OH, (where R is lower alkylene opt. substd. by alkyl). The copolymers are suitable for coating fabrics to give leather substitutes with better elasticicity and elongation props. than polyglutamate esters alone, while retaining excellent heat, abrasion and impact resistance with a good feel.
