Abstract

3,4-dihydro-1H-1,3,4-benzotriazepine-2,5-diones are of formula (I): (where R1 is H, halogen, lower alkyl or NO2; n is 0 or 1-4; R2 is H when n=4 and R1=Cl, or an aromatic ring which, when n=0, is substd by one or more lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, NO2 or amino gps, or R2 is a heterocycle, e.g. furfuryl, thiophene or piperonyl, with the proviso that R1=H when n=1 and R2=unsubstd, aromatic and R1 is not = H when n=1 and R2 is substd aromatic). They may be prepd by reacting the corresp. N-substd-O-aminobenzoyl hydrazines with urea.
