Abstract

A method of turning a flexible tube inside out, e.g. for finishing a fire hose which has had its internal coating applied externally, is as follows: one end of the tube is turned inside out for a short distance, then the edge of the end is clamped and then the turned-over portion thus formed is inflated to approximately a circular cross section; the remainder of the tube is then continuously fed through, so that the line of turning over of the tube progressively advances along it. During the operation, the portion of tube not yet treated is kept compressed. Pref. the untreated portion of the tube is housed in a closed container and the pressurising fluid is fed into this container.
