Abstract

The tyre tread compsns. consist of reaction prodts. of (1) polycarboxy homo-polymers of 4-6 C conjugated dienes and their copolymers with aromatic vinyl monomers, or vinyl nitrile monomers; or polycarboxyl polymers of 3-8 C olefins; or polycarboxy-polyethers or -polyesters, and (2) co-reactants selected from aliphatic and aromatic diepoxy resins, diaziridine, carbodiimides, diisocyanates and glycerides, with (3) suitable reinforcing agents. (1) is pref. carboxy-terminated polybutadiene opt. mixed with amino-terminated polyoxypropylene, or is carboxy-terminated polyisobutylene; (2) is pref. a condensn. prodt. of epichlorhydrin and bisphenol A. The reaction prodt. of (1) and (2) is pref. vulcanised by peroxides.
