Abstract

The elastomeric resin is a polyurethane. The compsn. contains a mixt. of relatively large starch granules and relatively small starch granules. The starch is a rice or corn starch. The compsn. contains 15 wt.% starch. The surface of the compsn. is treated with hot water. The starch granules are easily biodegraded to leave a porous structure which is easily oxidised and dispersed. The thermoplastic resin compsns. give films with some of characteristics of paper.
