Abstract

Machine incorporates an extruder producing vertical tubular parisons in the path of a series of moulds carried on a vertical turret mounted on a chassis which can be raised and lowered to allow the moulds to nip off the parison to a length controlled by a detector system. The moulds can be lowered and partly rotated so that subsidiary treatments can be effected without fouling the next portion of parison. Pref. mould closure is triggered by a photo-electric sensor, and esp. each mould is supported by subsidiary rams carried on twin turntable passing either side of the parison axis. The injection needles may be mounted on the turret axle or on a pivotted arm. The mechanism movement does not have to pause for parison material to be extruded into a specific mould daylight.
