Abstract

Hollow mouldings with an ovoid or a egg shaped profile made from tow complementary mouldings with a parting line above the midpoint or the minor diameter of the shape, where the larger component is made by injection moulding in a mould with a single male and a split female tool. Pref. the male tool is ovoid beneath the level of the minor diameter and cylindrical above. Pref. the moulded body incorporates a label panel made of plastic sheet. Pref. the components are expanded polystyrene mouldings. Esp. for mfr. of packaging of discontinuous items. Raising of the parting line for the cover increases the capacity of the pack w.r.t. potential spillage when opened.
