Abstract

If the door is held in the closed position by a latching bolt which projects through the upper edge of the door and can be retracted by gripping the door handle to displace a movable element which actuates a linkage to retract the bolt; in the door-closed position only, the bolt presses a safety switch actuator to allow power to flow to the oven magnetron. Radiation loss through open oven doorway is prevented.
