Abstract

Title structures are sealed by (a) apply (I) a layer of an aqs. bitumen emulsion contg. 10-50 wt.% based on bitumen, of an elastomer, (b) applying, over layer (I) while it is still tacky, (II) a reinforcing fleece, and (c) applying, over layer II, another layer of (I). The layers (I) can be applied at ambient temp., thus preventing degradation of the elastomers. The first layer I adheres strongly even to wet concrete. The composite layer is flexible, cohesive, and resistant to mech. and thermal stresses in the concrete structure, such as cracking.
