Abstract

Mould locking system for injection moulding press involving a moving tool to be closed up along tie bars to a stationary tool and then locked against a relatively high back press., where the forward anchorage for the moving platen comprises a set of annular hydraulic clamps which can lock on to the tie bars. The mobile tool can readily be stopped and locked in any position along the tie bars to suit the depth of any combination of platens and tools mounted on the machine. The clamping pressure may be activated by a press. sensitive switch responding to subsidiary rams moved in the mobile platen when the mobile tool encounters the stationary tool.
