Abstract
The gun comprises a nozzle for forming the arc pillar, the aperture of which is coaxial with a cylindrical cathode insert and an electric insulating material sheath between the coolant channel equipped electrode assembly and the nozzle. The cathode insert dia. (d) equals the dia. of the emitting surface at the current density specified for the constructional material used. The design results in a reliable gun, all parts of which have extended service lives. The gun is used for plasma cutting equipment and similar.
