Abstract

The construction element consists of a pile of randomly arranged strips of adhesive thermoplastic film contg. little or no plasticiser bonded together where they touch, and with a very compressed surface layer applied by simultaneous heating and pressing. Pref. the film strips can be PVC, polyvinylidene chloride, polycarbonate, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyurethane, polyamide, polystyrene, cellulose esters or any of their interpolymers. The construction element has a density of 20-200 kg./m3.
