Abstract

The fuel element is slid into an inner copper cylinder forming part of a central measuring cell, around whose exterior is wound a first electrical coil embedded in a sheath of thermal insulation. A second electrical coil embedded in the outer face of the sheath is in contact with an outer copper cylinder. Both ends of the cell have thermal insulation caps. Around the cell is a water filled thermostatically controlled tank with heat insulated walls.
