Abstract

Electrochemical element (pref. of the button type) comprises a negative electrode consisting of an alkali metal (pref. Li); a positive electrode contg. CuO, Ag2CrO4, PbCrO4 with addn. of a polymerised fluorine-contg. hydrocarbon; and an electrolyte contg. a soluble cpd. (pref. LiClO4) in a satd. ether contg. >=1 oxygen atom with a free electron pair selected from dioxane, dioxolane and propylene oxide; the two latter cpds. can be mixed with 10-50% (w.r.t. the solvent mixt.) of propylene- or ethylene-carbonate. This solvent has high solvation ability so that the prods. of the electrochemical reaction of the Li electrodes are readily dissolved and polarisation of this electrode is prevented. The electroconductivity of the electrolyte is high.
