Telephone cable with a test conductor system contains the filler within its outer jacket; in case of damage, the filler permits moisture to enter to the test conductor, and simultaneously blocks its spreading lengthwise of the cable. Pref., microcapsules of swellable carboxymethyl cellulose granules are contained in the filler, and rupture when moisture enters.
