Abstract

Mfr. comprises extruding a smooth wall tube of rubber or plastic into a travelling mould which defines the outside size and profile of the tubing, the tubing bore being calibrated internally by a mandrel mounted coaxially on to the end of the extruder, to mandrel having passages which allow high pressure air used for reshaping the parison on the upstream side of the mandrel to exhaust through to the downstream side of the mandrel to provide some internal cooling before being released from the free end of the tube.
