Abstract

Complexes of enzymes with a membrane of protein or polypeptide, which retain sufficient enzyme-activity to promote an enzymatically, catalysed reaction when a suitable substrate, is led over teh membrane. Any enzymes mayb e used, but prefd. are lysozyme, urease amylase and invertase. The pref. membrane material is e.g. of collagen. The membranes may be used in pharmaceutical research such as for lysis of cells, in the treatment of waste water, in food and drinks industry and for analytical purposes, for continuous hydrolysis of starch etc.
