Abstract

Deicing salt is in the form of grains formed from fine particles of a mixture of NaCl with CaCl2 and/or MgCl2. Pref. there is 10-50 wt.% CaCl2 and 60-75% NaCl pres. and grain size is 1-7 mm. It is used for treatment of roads, especially preventive treatment before snow falls or ice-glazing occurs.
