Abstract

Method comprises adding a mixt of acrylamide and methylene N,N'-bis-acrylamide with appropriate catalyst and accelerator and polymerising the mixt. to form a porous network. The electrolyte is pref. an alkaline liquid electrolyte esp NaOH, KOH and their mixt. at conc. >0.01N (4-9N). Ionic and water mobility are not hindered as in prior art, and the handleability of the batteries is improved.
